All it took was two heavy hitters, but the Switch finally fell behind the PS4 in unit sales in Japan last week. After months of utter Switch dominance – often, the console outsold all the others combined – the PS4 sold a few hundred units more than the Switch for the week ending on January 27. The PS4 did not do it on its own; two heavy hitters came to bat for the console. Kingdom Hearts III and Resident Evil 2 bolstered the console to the top of the charts. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, the previous week’s top game, fell to the third spot. Overall, both the PS4 and Switch sold a little more than 52,000 units each for the 7-day period.

Full sales follow below (thanks, Gematsu, for translating the Media Create numbers!).
