Jeremy Parish of Retronauts shows how to make a Gin & Sonic

What better to spend a relaxing night than with your favorite video game and a nice cocktail to complement it? That is unless you don’t drink, then more power to you. For the rest of us, however, Jeremy Parish of Retronauts shows how gaming and alcohol are done right together. Check out the video below for his take on a gin and tonic aptly named the Gin & Sonic.

Gin & Sonic is essentially a (Sonic) spin on the classic gin and tonic recipe. Jeremy Parish shows how to make this drink while also explaining how it related to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He explains how the marquee Sega franchise is not necessarily about speed but momentum as he pours in Bombay Sapphire Gin. Then there is the tonic which is poured in equal measure to complement the fact the original game is balanced. That is until you reach the water level. We feel you, Jeremy.

To make it truly fit the theme, there are juniper berries added in and lemon rinds as opposed to the standard lime. You can’t have Sonic the Hedgehog without gold rings after all!

The video is to be the first of a series called Gintendo which shows off gaming themed drink recipes. After speaking with Jeremy Parish, he commented that two more videos are in the works and that he hopes there will be more after. We say cheers to you, Jeremy, and game on!
