It looks like the PS4 family of systems is continuing to give the Switch a run for its money in the weekly sales charts in Japan. Media Create has released its latest report, containing data from the week of January 15th to the 21st. The chart shows that the top-selling individual system was the Switch, but the sales of the PS4 and PS4 Pro combined bring the platform to a higher level than that of the Switch. This happened in the week prior as well. Nevertheless, the Switch is selling quite well in Japan, and that likely won’t change anytime soon. What really is a big surprise in this week’s report is that the Xbox One X has actually sold more than a thousand units. For the Xbox brand in Japan, that’s an achievement unlocked!

Here’s the rundown (sales from the previous week 1/8 – 1/14 are in brackets “[]”:

  • PlayStation 4 – 37,572 – (PS4 Total = 52,507) [32,894]
  • PlaytStation 4 Pro – 14,935 [10,918]
  • Nintendo Switch – 43,027 [37,500]
  • New Nintendo 2DS LL (XL) – 7,302 [9,929]
