During the Nintendo Live 2019 show day 1, a Splatoon-centric concert got a special guest in K.K. Slider. At the very beginning of the concert, Slider played the Animal Crossing: New Horizons theme, followed by a snippet of the Splatoon main theme. The rest of the hour-long concert focused solely on Splatoon.
The concert consisted of live musicians accompanying holograms of Callie, Marie, Pearl, and Marina as they sang and danced to songs from the Splatoon soundtracks. We also got to see Pearl in a new red and blue Joy-Con-themed outfit. These concerts have been going on for quite a while now, so it’s nice to see some new guests appearing.
K.K. Slider is the premier musician in the Animal Crossing franchise and has a pretty vast discography. Despite being a dog, K.K. Slider can even whistle! His greatest hits include “Rockin’ K.K.”, “K.K. Blues”, and “Go K.K. Rider!” a send-up to Japanese superhero franchise Kamen Rider. With Splatoon music thrown into the mix, maybe we’ll get to see K.K Slider singing other Nintendo songs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
What did you think of the special appearance? We’ll let you know if he starts popping up in different places leading up to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Nintendo Live 2019 will continue for day 2 tomorrow.
