With the Nintendo Switch Lite launching in just under three weeks, some forthcoming buyers are no doubt worried about how they will keep their shiny new possession in good condition. As is the case with most other handheld devices, a good rule of thumb is to slap it in a case. That’s no different for the Switch Lite.
As a result, Nintendo is producing a new Flip Cover for the Switch Lite. As the name suggests, it has a flap that will keep the front of the system covered and secured when not in use, and this flap can flip over like a notebook when it’s time to play. The cover attaches and protects the rear of the unit as well, so your Switch Lite will be snug at all times. There’s even a cut out at the bottom center for the charging cable to still be used while keeping the Lite in the Flip Cover.
The only real downside to the Switch Lite Flip Cover is that it releases on November 1, 2019, rather than the same time as the Switch Lite. So, if you’re willing to go just over a month without it, then you’ll be able to pick it up then for 3,758 yen ($35.35 USD). While this is currently only listed on Nintendo of Japan’s website, since this is a first-party accessory there’s a good chance it will also come natively to other regions.
