Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory demo arrives next month

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory demo nintendo switch square enix

Square Enix has announced that a Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory demo will launch in mid-October, which in the case of Nintendo Switch means we can expect it on the Switch eShop. It should give everyone a taste of the game prior to the launch date of Nov. 13.

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is the first entry for the series on Nintendo Switch, and it’s also an action rhythm game. Players need to match their button presses to the timing of the music in order to progress. This includes progressing in combat, which has been melded with the rhythm-based gameplay to offer a seamless Kingdom Hearts experience. Melody of Memories will feature numerous worlds and game modes and over 140 songs.

The contents of the Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory demo are not yet known, but Square Enix has developed a track record for offering pretty extensive demos for its games, especially in the case of Dragon Quest XI S.

For many more details about this game, check out our feature talking to game leads Ichiro Hazama, Masanobu Suzui, and Tetsuya Nomura. Then check out how there are, regrettably, no current plans for more Kingdom Hearts games on Switch. (But we might see another Nomura game.)

Started out playing Metroid 2 on the GameBoy at around 5 years-old, and now I write about games all day long. Can't play Switch and drive, I've tried. As time goes on the Switch is quickly becoming my favourite console of all time.
