Kirby and the Forgotten Land

With Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s reveal at last week’s Nintendo Direct, the famous pink puffball is finally going full 3D. Kirby was one of the last Nintendo mascots to have never had a fully 3D game (except, I guess, for Kirby Air Ride, but that does not really fit what we’re talking about here). A few characters still remain, and other franchises have only had limited exposure to the 3D arena (such as DK’s lone 3D adventure, Donkey Kong 64, or Wario and Wario World). If you could select one Nintendo character to star in their own 3D game after Kirby and the Forgotten Land releases, who would you pick?

I am personally very curious about how a 3D platforming title starring Yoshi might work, especially after getting to use him a bit as a capture in Super Mario Odyssey and riding Yoshi in games like Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy 2. I am not totally sure how such a game would work, but I think that Yoshi’s traditional 2D adventures and egg-tossing antics would translate quite well into a 3D setting (especially the yarn and craft aesthetics from Yoshi’s Woolly World and Yoshi’s Crafted World).

Which Nintendo character would you like to see take on another 3D adventure after Kirby and the Forgotten Land releases? Why? Let us know in the comment section below.
