Alright, this one is a stretch, but here we go: Fans on social media are suddenly speculating that Samus from Metroid may come to Fortnite at some point in its new season 5. For starters, leakers already confirmed that Sony’s Kratos from God of War is headed to the game, leading some to think it would make sense if a representative from all three major console manufacturers (Sony, Nintendo, Xbox) came to the game. For instance: Kratos, Samus, and Master Chief from Halo descending upon Fortnite?

Game Theory: This Fortnite season is based on Reality Crossovers + Bounty Hunting… Kratos has already been leaked for Playstation.
Next week Jonesey Fortnite will be revealed for Smash Bros. and Samus will come to Fortnite as a Bounty Hunter.

However, more compellingly, Nintendo of America itself has shared a tweet about the Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass, and it emphasizes that the “greatest Hunters there are,” such as the Mandalorian, are coming to the game this time around. Well, in the Nintendo sphere, the greatest hunter is obviously Metroid‘s Samus, and would Nintendo dare mention the greatest hunters in a tweet if there is no likelihood of Samus coming to Fortnite?

Well, the answer very well could be — yes. Nintendo of America Twitter is just a marketing tool like any other, and it’s completely possible that that’s just the text that was provided to talk about Fortnite Season 5 and that it has nothing to do with Samus. However, like with Pandora’s box, there’s still a sliver of hope at the bottom of all this, and for hungry, desperate Metroid fans, a little hope is better than nothing.
