Free 12-month Switch Online with Twitch Prime promo now active

UPDATE: 1/22 @ 4:14 PM — The promo has now officially ended and the link will just show an error message.

Last year, Nintendo partnered with Twitch (Amazon) for a special promotion that granted a year of Switch Online membership for any ongoing Twitch Prime member. This promo came in two parts: first, a 3-month membership offer, and the second being a 9-month membership offer. Stacking them both makes a total of 12 months.

The promo is now on its last legs. Today is the final day to both claim and redeem the 9-month option. That means, if you’re totally new to this offer, you have basically until the end of today (January 22) to claim it. If you’ve already claimed it in the past but have yet to redeem it, you must also do so by the end of the day or else you will miss out.

Keep in mind that this promo requires you to have access to Twitch Prime, which comes bundled with all Amazon Prime memberships. In order to take advantage of the 9-month Switch Online offer, your Twitch Prime account must have been active for at least 60 days.

Seeing that free trials for Prime only last 30 days, then that would make your account ineligible for this offer. However, for those of you who do have Prime, taking advantage of this offer would still essentially grant you access to Switch Online for nearly a year for no additional cost. Doing the mast, if you pay for nine months individually, that would end up being $36. So, this offer will save you a bit of change.
