Following from an Amazon leak earlier this week, Lego has now officially announced that the Luigi Starter Course is joining the Lego Super Mario Adventures, and preorders for the $59.99 set will begin on Aug. 1, 2021. The full details of what’s included are somewhat extensive, so buckle up.
The Luigi Starter Course includes Lego Luigi, Pink Yoshi, Boom Boom, and Bone Goomba. (Bone Goomba looks especially silly and cute.) Luigi gets his own unique LCD animations on his chest, such as a drawing of Pink Yoshi that makes the “Yoshi!” exclamation. Digital coins can be earned by navigating spinning seesaw and flying challenges as well. Overall, this is a modular 280-piece set, and if you need additional assistance putting it all together, you can download the Lego Super Mario app on Android and iOS for “building instructions, creative tips and a safe platform for kids to share ideas.”
The Lego Super Mario brand was formally unveiled back in March 2020, and it definitely does not feel like it has been more than a year since that reveal already. Regardless, the Lego Group itself has stated that it was one of the biggest launches the company has ever seen, so you can expect the Luigi Starter Course to sell quite nicely.
