Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is easily one of my most anticipated games of 2021. Details about the game’s new release date are still scarce though, with spring being the estimated launch window. However in a recent interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, TT Games Lead Hub Designer Dawn McDiarmid shared more details about the game, including that The Skywalker Saga will offer an incredible amount of playable characters.
In Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, there are around 300 playable characters and about 800 unique characters. “There were around 300 playable characters made for this game but altogether about 800 unique characters were made,” said McDiarmid. “Our character team did a truly amazing job.” Inevitably this means we’ll be able to play as more obscure Star Wars characters.
McDiarmid also spoke about the game’s planets. The Skywalker Saga is going to include a multitude of unique locations to explore: “There are 23 planets/moons with 28 unique locations that the player can visit, each full of quests, challenges, items, and characters to find. If you have a favourite Star Wars location it’s pretty likely you can visit it in-game.” It will be interesting to see how ambitious each planet is, as the Lego games have started to include open-world-like areas for you to discover.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, with its hundreds of characters, is scheduled to release sometime in spring 2021 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
