Limited Run Games recently held it’s yearly game announcement live-stream, where the game publishing company revealed a huge slate of titles that would be getting a sleek physical release in the near future. Two of the many, many games announced there were Return of the Obra Dinn and The friends of Ringo Ishikawa, a pair of inventive narrative-driven indie gems that deserve to be in anyone’s collection. Now, pre-order windows for both games have been announced, alongside the contents of their sleek limited collector’s editions.
The limited collector’s edition of Return of the Obra Dinn from Limited Run Games is set to be available for pre-order starting on July 24. Alongside a physical copy of the game, you’ll also receive two sharp double-sided posters and a physical soundtrack CD for the game. The collector’s edition also comes with “Return of the Obra Dinn – The Book,” which is the actual book you fill out in-game as you uncover the mystery of the sunken ship itself.
The special edition release of The friends of Ringo Ishikawa from Limited Run Games, meanwhile, is packed full of goods that will please old-school video game fans. Included beyond a standard physical copy of the game is a 16-page comic tie-in and two 5-by-7 mini posters. Perhaps most exciting, though, is the included replica Famicom cartridge adorned with a classic game label and even housed inside a beautiful Super Famicom-style long box. This version of the game will be available to pre-order beginning July 21.
Both games can be pre-ordered from the official Limited Run Games website.
