Link's Awakening remake blur mod

Last month Nintendo released a Link’s Awakening remake on Switch. Nintendo beautifully redesigned the Game Boy classic with a charming new art style, but (for the most part) the same beloved gameplay. Fans are loving this new take on the island adventure, as evidenced by its stellar reviews and strong sales. However, not everyone is pleased with certain changes. For instance, the game features a blur effect around the corners of the screen. Some players like it, while others (myself included) find it a tad distracting. If you’re in the latter camp, there’s a mod for you!

Link’s Awakening remake mod removes edge blur

The “No DOF Blur” mod for the Link’s Awakening remake is exactly as advertised. A new video from BSoD Gaming shows off this simple mod in action. It was created by MelonSpeedruns with help from Rodrigo, and it’s easy to install. You can add it to a real Switch version of the game (if you have the proper firmware mod running) or to an emulated version running on the Yuzu emulator. If you’d like to try it out yourself, the video gives simple instructions for getting the job done. You can watch the video below to learn how you can try it out for yourself!
