In Japan, My Nintendo has been a cool continuation of the Club Nintendo of years past. Fans worldwide can redeem platinum points for digital rewards, and gold points can be used toward discounts on games. However, Japanese gamers can also get exclusive swag. The newest set of goodies ties into Luigi’s Mansion 3, and you can check them out below.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 Hotel Keychain – 400 Platinum Points
Luigi’s Mansion 3 Glow-in-the-Dark Post Card Set – 400 Platinum Points
Luigi’s Mansion 3 Tote Bag – 400 Platinum Points
Digital Reward: LM3 Wallpaper – 50 Platinum Points
While these goodies are technically free after the point redemption, there is a packing and shipping cost of ¥500 for the physical goods. Still, some of these rewards are definitely worth it.
Nintendo used to offer a service like this in different regions. By registering codes packed in games, players could take a short survey and rack up points for cool stuff. They even offered extra bonuses for fans who reached certain point thresholds by the end of the year. However, it only lasted from 2008 to 2015 in North America and was mostly digital rewards by the end. It would be nice to see them bring it back for fans outside Japan, as some of the swag is to die for. In the meantime, My Nintendo is holding a Luigi’s Mansion 3 sweepstakes for the US and Canada (excluding Quebec) that has awesome stuff to win.
