Pokémon 25 anniversary celebration Take It Home Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey

Pokémon 25 anniversary celebrations continue, with English musician Mabel releasing her new music video, “Take It Home.” The video involves Mabel falling asleep while watching Pokémon and basically dreaming of a more flowery version of where she is, which involves Jigglypuff and Pikachu showing up. There isn’t much overt Pokémon flavor otherwise, and in all honesty, I can’t feign any enthusiasm for it. It’s a pop song that exists. It’s fine. Maybe you’ll enjoy it. I don’t know.

Mabel’s “Take It Home” will be included as one of the 14 tracks on Pokémon 25: The Album, which is slated to release in fall 2021 with Universal Music Group’s Capitol Records. The album will also include Post Malone’s cover of “I Only Wanna Be with You,” Katy Perry’s “Electric,” and something from J Balvin. Music is just one more avenue The Pokémon Company is using to attract a new generation of fans or to reinforce the devotion of the existing fan base.

In other Pokémon news, Pokémon Unite recently received its final July release date on Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series is coming to Netflix in September, and Bidoof Day delivered the most stunning revelation in Pokémon history.

Let us know if you think “Take It Home” from Mabel is a worthy addition to Pokémon 25: The Album.
