major

It’s time to detail some news from one of my favorite devs, PlatinumGames. While the company has difficulty self-publishing its major titles, it still has exciting prospects in the cards. According to this week’s issue of  Famitsu, a “major” announcement will be made public on February 27, 2020, in the pages of the aforementioned magazine. Whatever could it be?!

I am reasonably confident “major” means another game reveal

You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to surmise the proclamation probably has something to do with “Platinum 4.” The Wonderful 101 has already been successfully Kickstarted, so that leaves three projects still up in the air. Director Hideki Kamiya did tell Famitsu development on Bayonetta 3  is “going well,” though that probably disqualifies it from being the “major” announcement.

Personally, I hope PlatinumGames obtained the rights to some Clover Studios titles. After all, some members of Clover migrated over to Platinum once the studio was dissolved. Both God Hand and Viewtiful Joe need a remaster and port to Nintendo Switch. They are both unique video games that deserve a second shot at fame and glory.

Especially God Hand:

Enthusiasts, what is the “major” announcement PlatinumGames has in store for gamers? Leave us your best guesses in the comment field below.
