Though the focus has recently shifted to Mario’s mainline adventures thanks to the release of Super Mario 3D All-Stars last week, fans shouldn’t forget about the excellent spin-off adventures. Target is taking steps to keep some of these more recent titles in the spotlight as they’re launching an exclusive double pack featuring Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Party on October 4th at a price of $99.99, a savings of $10 versus buying them separately. Pre-orders are open now, and if you order early, you can snag a $10 Target gift card as a bonus.

If you’ve never experienced either of these titles, this is a great opportunity to do so. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is an even better version of the much-loved Mario Kart 8 for Wii U, and continues to sell like hotcakes despite launching three and a half years ago. As of June 30, 2020, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has a 43.5% attach rate, and is on pace to once again have a record year. Meanwhile, Super Mario Party is a solid title on its own, selling just under 11 million units since its launch two years ago. Though it may not be the best Mario Party title, it made great strides to rectify some of the issues the more recent entries had, and was fairly well received.
Target’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + Super Mario Party double pack may not be the only collection new Switch owners will be able to grab this holiday season. Though still unofficial, two Sega double packs have leaked and are supposedly releasing on October 26th. The first pack contains Sonic Mania and Team Sonic Racing, while the second contains Sonic Forces and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD.
