Mario Kart 64 cut content cut features developer interview

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is tantalizingly close to its worldwide release. Millions of gamers will experience some combination of Super Mario 64Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy for the first time, while millions more will excitedly revisit these classics in a convenient, portable package. Amidst the buzz, many gamers have begun imagining the potential of Nintendo embracing more of its vast vault of retro content. A quick scroll across any Twitter feed is abundant with mock-ups of collections for series such as The Legend of ZeldaMetroid, and more. One series that I’d like to see get such treatment is Mario Kart. Yeah, I know that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is enough for many, but the series holds so many unique and lovable kart racing experiences. If you could see a Mario Kart All-Stars land on Switch with three previous games from the series, which games would you pick?

I’d like to see the past three console titles: Mario Kart 64Double Dash, and Wii. While I love the series’ portable outings, the tracks and gameplay in the console editions tend to offer a more varied package. Each game listed enjoyed a few years as a go-to title in my childhood, and I’d love to have them all in the palm of my hand today.

Which Mario Kart games would you most like to see in a Mario Kart All-Stars? Let us know in the comments below.
