McDonalds customers in Korea go nuts for the red–clad Italian plumber
Mario Kart 8 was released globally in stores and in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U this past Friday, May 30. To coincide with the release, Nintendo partnered with McDonalds to begin distributing Mario-themed Happy Meal toys for children to enjoy.
The 4 blue-tagged Mario figures at the top of the display (as taken and reported by reddit user Leocul) began distribution yesterday, May 30, while the the 4 orange-tagged figures seen mostly at the bottom of the display will begin distribution a few weeks later on June 23.
Well, according to an article in Korean, most McDonalds fast-food restaurants located in the Seoul area ran out of these Mario toys in less than a day.
The same reddit user captured the sign seen above and says that many other McDonalds locations have posted this same note seen above on their doors that informs customers that they only have alternative toys in stock.
