Lizardcube is a pretty talented video game development company. It has made the gorgeous titles Streets of Rage 4 and Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, so it has a great track record. Recently, two artists employed by the company, Ben Fiquet and Julian Nguyen-You, were fiddling around with a brilliant idea. Namely, what a sequel to SNK’s excellent fighting game, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, would look like with Lizardcube at the helm. Thus, Garou: Mark of the Wolves 2 concept art was born.
This Garou: Mark of the Wolves 2 concept art is making me salivate
The pair of designers decided to show off their process with a 20-minute timelapse video:
Have you ever seen anything so stunning?
Ben and Julian looked at the official artwork of Garou‘s Rock Howard as a starting point for their own interpretation. They also created a new character, Boss Fur, to be Rock’s opponent. After all is said and done, we get a glimpse at a potential fighting game I’d pre-order the second it was announced.
Hopefully, SNK will see this design and hire Lizardcube to make an official sequel to Mark of the Wolves. The company is too busy working on The King of Fighters XV, after all.
Enthusiasts, what do you think of this Garou 2 concept art? Are you fans of both SNK and Lizardcube? Let us know in the comment field below.
