Headup Games has announced that it will lend a hand to Pumpkin Jack, a solo-developed indie 3D platformer that claims to combine the best of old school classics like MediEvil and Jak & Daxter. The spunky title is targeting a Q4 2020 release, and while it’s unclear if it will launch on PC and consoles simultaneously, it will eventually land on Switch.
Peace and quiet can get a little dull, wouldn’t you agree? That’s why today we're thrilled to announce that we've teamed up with single dev @nicospkr to bring you the Spooky Scary 3D platformer #PumpkinJack in Q4 2020: https://t.co/EsHYv1dfEK@thepumpkinjack @madewithUnreal pic.twitter.com/CHZh6uXhwm

Pumpkin Jack itself has been known and announced for a while already. The game has its own Twitter page, Steam demo, and website. The game has the potential to do right by its famous action-oriented 3D platformer inspirations, MediEvil and Jak & Daxter. Lots of gameplay is already out, showcasing some appealing level design and challenges. With the right amount of charm and polish, Pumpkin Jack can really please, and so far, the prospects are quite promising. I mean, we’ve even got video confirmation of at least one minecart level, and those are the undisputably the best.

Are you interested in Pumpkin Jack? Do you suppose that it can rectify the disappointment of the PS4’s recent MediEvil remake? I think that the game looks like a refreshing, old-school platformer that we don’t see quite enough of nowadays. Ideally, it’d launch around Halloween, but I’d rather the lone developer take his sweet time and make the best game he can make.
