It’s been nearly two decades since Nintendo released an all-new 2D Metroid. That drought is finally coming to an end, as Nintendo just officially unveiled Metroid Dread. A game under this title was originally in development many, many years ago, but was eventually canceled. Nintendo just brought it back with an exciting E3 trailer that gives us a good look at what we can expect. You can check out this exciting new look at the future of Metroid by clicking below!
Metroid Dread revealed
Metroid Dread features 2D gameplay with a visual style similar to Samus Returns on 3DS. However, everything’s a lot crisper and smoother on Nintendo Switch. The game sees Samus running from a tenacious robot named E.M.M.I. It seems like it will have something of a horror feel to it, much like Metroid: Fusion before it.
If Metroid Dread looks like the game you’ve been waiting for, then good news! You don’t have to wait long. The next entry in the Metroid franchise launches on October 8. That’s just a few months away. We’ve been waiting for years, so that’s nothing! We’re in the home stretch now. At the same time, you’ll be able to pick up a Samus and E.M.M.I. amiibo, which you can see below. What do you think of what we’ve seen of Metroid Dread thus far? Sound off in the comments below!
