Arms Min Min amiibo Super Smash Bros Ultimate Masahiro Sakurai Kazuya

At the end of the presentation for Kazuya and Mishima Dojo in Super Smash Bros Ultimate today, Masahiro Sakurai showed off the prototype Min Min amiibo and announced a vague 2022 release date for it. He didn’t actually have anything more to say about the amiibo than that, but he also mentioned jokingly, “Nintendo making an amiibo of Kazuya Mishima would be a little odd, though.” However, at this point, that wouldn’t seem odd in the slightest.

There is an awesome amount of detail in the prototype Min Min amiibo, especially those wily arms of hers, so hopefully all of that will translate faithfully into the final product. Few seem to be complaining about the overall crafting quality of amiibo to date, which is part of their charm. Most recently, amiibo were announced for Metroid Dread and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, which will mercifully be coming much sooner than 2022.

Today, Sakurai also announced that Kazuya and Mishima Dojo are coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate on June 29, in addition to revealing an amazing set of new Mii Fighters with Lloyd, Dragonborn, Dante, and Shantae. But for some people, amiibo is all that matters, and you’ll be waiting a while for that 2022 release date of Min Min.
