With Minecraft more than likely not coming to the Wii U, two indie developers have decided to take up the hole in the market place by offering alternatives coming to the Wii U eShop. UCraft from Nexis Games and Stone Shire from Finger Gun Games are hoping to attract a market that is clearly on the Wii U but has never been fulfilled. Today, Nexis Games showed off the first gameplay from their Minecraft-clone UCraft, and it is showing a lot of promise for people looking for a Minecraft fix on their Wii U.

UCraft will allow for mods implemented from Hullbreach Studios SDK Paint and really open up the game world as far as creativity is concerned. The video showcases adequate graphics and appears to be very easy to create your own world in. If the controls can hold up and the creation aspects of the game are strong, this game could end up being a very solid Wii U game. Be sure to check out the trailer below and let us know your thoughts.
