Minecraft Dungeons: Creeping Winter, the second DLC for the game, has launched, and the content drops alongside a pretty substantial base game update. Whilst Creeping Winter is a paid DLC pack, the general update drops some free content for players, like new Daily Trials. As usual, there’s also a long list of bug fixes and stability updates coming with this update.
Daily Trials will provide new challenges that add some variation to your Minecraft Dungeons adventure. There are four new pieces of gear to earn too that are exclusive to Daily Trials. These challenges are accessible in the Mission Select screen and contain green and red modifiers depending on if they make the game more difficult or not. Aside from Daily Trials, there are some new camp merchants for gear upgrades, along with two new artifacts and six new enchantments spread across the game.
Meanwhile, Minecraft Dungeons: Creeping Winter brings a snowy theme and three new missions to tackle. There are also fresh armor options with new weapons, artifacts, and skins, along with the cute-sounding Arctic Fox pet.
The general update patch further brings some nice QOL improvements. There’s now a map legend in-game that points out rewards, secret locations, and captured merchants. There are some weapon balance changes too, along with multiplayer improvements like the ability to toggle to a private game so friends can’t join without an invite.
For Nintendo Switch in particular, a change has been implemented to fix crashing when a guest controller tries to view the Jungle Awakens DLC, and in-game news should now appear even if you’re not logged into a Microsoft account. The full list of update notes for Minecraft Dungeons is available in a blog post.
