August 8 marked the 10 year anniversary of Momodora, a series of 2D sidescrolling action games with sharp art and stylish gameplay. To celebrate the milestone, creator of the series and head of development studio Bombservice Guilherme “Rdein” Martins went to Twitter to share a trio of exciting announcements. One of the announcements was that the spiritual follow-up to Momodora, Minoria, would be arriving on consoles soon after launching exclusively on PC via Steam last year.

In the anniversary announcement tweet, Rdein shared the news that Minoria would be arriving on consoles on September 10. Eager fans will be able to dig into the game on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One. It hasn’t been confirmed if or when the game will recieve a physical release, as it’s currently only set to be sold digitally across all platforms. However, Bombservice’s previous release Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight did end up getting a limited physical collector’s edition and standard edition release from Limited Run Games, so the possibility is out there.
News of the Minoria console ports was also accompanied by the exciting news of a new Momodora game being in development. Rdein shared the mysterious teaser above, which shows off some of the pixelated aesthetic we might end up seeing in the final game. Details are scarce as of now, but as a huge fan of the last Momodora game, I’m eagerly anticipating news on this one.
