Back in April, publisher Merge Games and developer Maple Powered Games delayed Monster Harvest to July. Now, it’s been delayed again, and Monster Harvest will launch on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam with a final release date of Aug. 19, 2021. Maple Powered Games joint owner Kerry Vandenberg provided a statement about the delay:
Delays are awful, we are sorry to let down our friends and fans, yet we want to make sure we dispatch Monster Harvest in the best shape possible so that our whole community will enjoy it. We realized how important it is to ensure high-quality support for as many regions as possible right from launch day, even if that means having to push back our release date by just over a month. We are shipping the game by August 19th, with no further days and it’ll be worth it when we show what we have in store for you.
While seeing Monster Harvest delayed a second time will disappoint those who are excited for it, this is obviously much better than Merge and Maple Powered Games releasing incomplete garbage. The game will combine the monster collecting of Pokémon with the farm sim elements of the likes of Stardew Valley, so it should definitely have a built-in audience on Nintendo Switch.
Sit tight for the final August release date of Monster Harvest.
