Monster Hunter Rise Japan Sales

The weekly hardware and software sales from Japan are in, courtesy of Famitsu, and Capcom has cause for celebration! Monster Hunter Rise debuted at number one, selling over 1.3 million units at launch. This series is an absolute juggernaut in Japan, and it looks like that’s not changing anytime soon. No other game managed to sell more than 40,000 units this week.

Aside from Capcom, Nintendo is also reaping the benefits. Monster Hunter Rise is a Nintendo Switch (timed, console) exclusive, so its strong start was a boon for Nintendo hardware. Switch was the top-selling console this week with 267,497 units sold between the base and Lite models. You can check out the rest of the Japanese sales charts for this week below.
