Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, a sequel to the original Monster Hunter Stories on 3DS, is set to launch on Switch this summer. In preparation of the game’s release season, Capcom is circulating a helpful fact sheet that shares plenty of details on the game, including the many gameplay mechanics underlying this turn-based RPG. The game promises a narrative adventure where the player, a young Monster Rider, teams up with the strange Wyvernian Ena and a Felyne hero named Navirou in a quest to realize the prophecy of the Wings of Ruin. Monster Hunter Stories 2 will additionally utilize familiar monsters and weapons to translate the franchises’ iconic combat into a strategic turn-based experience.

By collecting and hatching eggs, you can build your own party of Monsties, who eventually grow into formidable allies. You’ll also spend some time crafting new weapons and armors so that you can keep up with a brutal world around you.

Additionally, you can’t have Monster Hunter without multiplayer, so Monster Hunter Stories is careful to incorporate cooperative battling and exploration in its setting, which the developers describe as sprawling and beautiful.
