Waiting for those alleged 3D Mario remasters? Whilst we’ve no news on those, we can show off more upcoming Super Mario Switch controllers from Hori and PowerA. These two manufacturers churn out controllers like crazy these days, with different designs dropping every few months. Now, likely to tie in with Mario’s 35th anniversary, there are a couple new Mario themes on the way.
First off, PowerA is releasing another Switch Pro Controller variant. This one is red and gold, featuring a giant M letter constructed from Mario game imagery. It’s another wired affair from PowerA, with presumably no HD rumble or gyro capabilities. Whilst I like the color pairing, I’m not sure on the overall design with this one. Either way, the PowerA Golden M controller is available to preorder at Amazon for $24.99 and will be shipping on Sept. 4.
Hori, meanwhile, is bringing another mini controller. These are designed with younger players in mind but are a good option for those who prefer a more classic controller build. I do prefer the design on this one though, which features Mario and Bowser front and center, with Princess Peach’s castle in the background. Again, this is a wired option with no NFC, rumble, or gyro control options. It is also available for preorder at Amazon for $24.99, currently slated to ship Sept. 1.
Both Mario Switch controllers will be available early next month. Let us know if you’re interested in either one!
