Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11 has made quite a stir this year with surprising guest characters like Terminator T-800 and the Joker. While the DLC newcomers range in excitement factor, seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger’s likeness (without his voice) standing alongside popular fighters from the series has been especially jarring. Apparently, he was not the only celebrity considered for a guest appearance. Series director Ed Boon recently discussed some other guest characters who missed the cut for Mortal Kombat 11. Specifically, Boon showed damning symptoms of Keanu fever by naming Neo from The Matrix and John Wick. He also vaguely mentioned wanting to see a character from the Street Fighter series, but did not name names.

Each one of Reeves’ characters mentioned seem like reasonable fits for Mortal Kombat 11. It is a shame that neither could make the cut. Seeing multiple versions of Keanu Reeves running around in game would be a sight to behold, for sure–I’m not sure that Reddit would be able to contain themselves. Hell, why stop at two? Perhaps Ted from Bill & Ted could have made an emphatically excellent appearance.

Would you have preferred Neo and John Wick over some of the other guest characters in Mortal Kombat 11? Would you rather have no guest characters at all? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
