Astral Chain revealed

With a new month comes another round of My Nintendo rewards, this team with Astral Chain headlining the program’s lineup. With PlatinumGames’ latest due for release later this month, My Nintendo’s new calendar is all about the upcoming action thriller. The calendar is available as a wallpaper for PC, mobile phones, and tablets for a cheap 50 Platinum Coins.

As for the main crux of this month’s rewards, it’s (of course) all about the Nintendo 3DS. Two new themes are available for those who want to spruce up their 3DS home menu, highlighting The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for 20 Gold Coins, as well as a summery Animal Crossing: New Leaf theme for 100 Platinum Coins.

For the frugal-minded, My Nintendo also introduced some new discounts for a handful of Nintendo 3DS games. The following are all available at 30% off:

  • BOXBOXBOY! (50 Platinum Coins)
  • Hyrule Warriors Legends (300 Platinum Coins)
  • Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (200 Platinum Coins)
  • Yokai Watch 2: Bony Spirits (90 Gold Coins)
  • Yokai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls (90 Gold Coins)
  • Mario Sports Superstars (90 Gold Coins)

On the European side, the Yokai Watch 2 games are also available for 30% off at 120 Gold Coins. Besides that, the following 3DS rewards are up for grabs:

  • Blue Super Mario home menu theme (20 Gold Coins)
  • 40% off Super Mario Land (50 Platinum Coins)
  • 20% off Nintendo Selects: Super Mario 3D Land (40 Gold Coins)
  • 30% off Mario Party: The Top 100 (120 Gold Coins)
  • 50% off Game & Watch Gallery 3 (25 Gold Coins)
  • 20% off Nintendo Selects: Nintendo presents: New Style Boutique (40 Gold Coins)

In related news, Astral Chain lead composer Satoshi Igarashi recently gave a brief overview of the game’s music production on the PlatinumGames devblog.

Admittedly, my own interest in My Nintendo has drifted off the wayside, given the lack of compelling rewards on games I already happen to own. That said, I’ve been meaning to pick up the Professor Layton and Ace Attorney crossover, so now was as good a time as any. Will you redeem your Coins on any of this month’s rewards? Let us know in the comments.
