Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered Switch launch trailer EA Criterion Games

Rumors of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered just received another jolt of life, this time courtesy of a rating from the Game Rating and Administration Committee in Korea. Criterion’s classic 2010 racer has been mentioned by a few journalists in conjunction with EA’s plans to bring seven games to Switch this year. The potential remaster also received its own page on Amazon UK back in July. Kind of suspicious for a game that doesn’t otherwise exist yet. We’re still waiting on an official reveal, but there’s a whole lot of smoke surrounding this potential fire (including the screenshot you see at the top of this article).

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered would be the second racing game by Criterion to launch on Switch in 2020 – the first was the excellent Burnout Paradise Remastered. It’s a similarly beloved game whose arrival on Switch and other platforms would appropriately celebrate Criterion’s recent return to the franchise.

Do you buy into the rumors, or do you need to see explicit confirmation before you believe in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered? Assuming the game is real, would you plan to pick it up? Would you be replaying it, or checking it out for the first time? Let us know what you’re thinking in the comments below.
