A little over a month ago, we revealed that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered was coming to Nintendo Switch. It may have already just dropped on other platforms, but the Switch launch is later this week. Now, EA has released a launch trailer showcasing what the remaster brings over the original game.
The industry has rapidly moved towards cross-play in recent years, allowing users to play together on all platforms. Hot Pursuit Remastered is taking advantage of this feature by integrating it into the game’s Autolog system. Autolog appeared in the original release, as an in-game network to compare stats with friends and even challenge them to races. Now, the system runs across all platforms, including Nintendo Switch.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a remaster without enhanced visuals. While Switch is less powerful than the other systems Hot Pursuit Remastered is running on, it still turns in decent results. As we mentioned in our preview last month, the Switch version runs at 1080p 30 FPS and contains all the new modes and remastered assets of this new version.
Hot Pursuit Remastered contains all the original game’s DLC along with some brand new features. There are new car customization options, an updated photo mode, reworked cutscenes, and even some brand new race modes. Our hands-on time was with the PC version, but we came away impressed with the game’s overhaul.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered launches for Switch on Nov. 13.
