Square Enix promised news for NEO: The World Ends with You, and the company delivered with a new trailer and a release date slated for July 27, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. A PC release via Epic Games Store has been revealed as well.

NEO: The World Ends with You is the long-anticipated sequel of the hit 2007 DS game The World Ends with You. This time around, we’ll see new characters partake in the Reapers’ Game in the dazzling streets of Tokyo, starting with the protagonist Rindo. His companions include Fret and Nagi, who appear in the trailer. We also get to see several antagonists return from the first game.

Tsugumi Matsunae, the blonde girl with headphones like the previous protagonist Neku, also makes an appearance in the trailer. Her first appearance was in a secret ending screenshot in The World Ends with You -Solo Remix- for smartphones and The World Ends with You: Final Remix for Switch. She’s part of The Ruinbringers alongside a character named Susukichi.
