Link's Awakening Switch

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is now just barely over two weeks away. A dream come true for fans who have played the original, and an enchanting prospect for total newcomers such as myself, the gorgeous remake has looked positively fantastic thus far. This trend continues in new gameplay from PAX West 2019, captured by YouTuber AbdallahSmash026. The video, which you can watch below,  shows off over ten minutes of Link’s Awakening with the Key Cavern and the Slime Eye boss battle.

Looks pretty awesome, right? Link’s Awakening looks to be coming along wonderfully–whenever I can finally stop drooling over the art style long enough to check out the game itself, the combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving all appear incredible. This steaming hot ten minutes of gameplay is certainly a few orders of magnitude more exciting than the ten-second blip we got last week, but both achieve the same hype-building purpose as far as I am concerned.

Speaking of ten-second hype videos, the dripfeed of content for Link’s Awakening has me hook, line, and sinker. Every few days, we get a new fascinating bit of gameplay to take in, or a new teaser site will launch, or we’ll learn more about Amiibo functionality. Nintendo has successively dropped a ton of totally tiny bits of info, mostly irrelevant on their own, but together, they’ve successfully driven many of us crazy in anticipation.

Are you excited for The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening? What did you think of this new gameplay? Do you have any concerns about the remake, or have you already committed to play it on a brand new Switch Lite on its September 20 launch day? Sound off in the comments and let us know.
