The Nintendo NX may be getting support for Unreal Engine 4, if a Nintendo hiring page is any indication. According to a Nintendo job listing, the company is looking for a software engineer who is familiar with “existing game engines.” The only game engine singled out is UE4, an engine previously not officially supported on any Nintendo platform.

“We are seeking an engineer to join a team responsible for design, development, debug and delivery of system drivers and tools for Nintendo gaming systems,” the description reads. “The successful candidate will be a high-energy problem-solver with a passion for excellence and a proven track record. We are looking for people who are excellent team players, and who also work well on individual assignments. In addition, the successful candidate will be a high-energy problem-solver with a passion for excellence. An interest in system software is essential. In this position, the engineer will receive a very rewarding experience working with key technologies for gaming systems.”

Few details are currently known about the Nintendo NX and nothing has been confirmed concerning supported game engines. The console is set to launch in March of next year, and we will keep you updated on any new information as it is released.
