While the new, free-to-play Steel Diver game is somewhere over the horizon, deep sea enthusiasts can take their subs into the fray with the new Steel Diver item featured in today’s official Super Smash Bros. update.
\”Pic of the day. Q: \’Is that a Steel Diver?\’ A: \’Yes, indeed, that is a Steel Diver.\’ The sub from Steel Diver is now a cute projectile weapon — it launches torpedoes that fly slowly at first.\”
This new item looks like a gun of sorts, firing off torpedoes in the direction it is facing when utilized. While the torpedo launches are seemingly slow at first, the caption may be implying that the torpedoes either pick up speed as they travel or the firing rate increases as time passes until the item stops working.
We have no idea otherwise how the torpedoes themselves operate or how they interact with other items, character-made projectiles, and character moves. Certainly one of the more unique projectile-based weapons in the game, how will this launcher compare to the Ray Gun and other guns on the battlefield?
