Indie developer Stu Phelps has revealed that his new 2D Stealth Platformer, Neon the Ninja will be heading to the Wii U eShop when it launches later this year. Players will be tasked with guiding Neon on his journey to take down the world’s biggest baddies. In a break from the genre’s norm, instead of hiding in the shadows, Neon must utilize bright neon lights to hide from his enemies. There will be numerous colors to choose from, adding a layer of strategy to the stealth elements in the game.
One of the game’s many bosses sees Neon hiding amongst neon signs to give him the opportunity to initiate a stealth attack. Other moves available to the player will be a dodge, a special spin attack and a well-timed stun kick. Neon won’t only need to master physical attacks, but also ninja weapons suck as shurikens. The developers say inspiration came from Samurai Jack and Samurai Vs. Ninja.
