Despite feeling like significantly longer, it’s only been a year and a half since Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch launched for the Switch. While many bemoaned the sequel not launching alongside it, fans may finally be able to put those worries to rest. The ESRB (those rotten leakers), has now posted a rating for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom Prince’s Edition for the Switch.
Originally launching for PC and PlayStation 4 in 2018, Ni no Kuni II follows a young king named Evan who lost his throne after being overthrown in a coup. He then ventures out to found a new kingdom with the hope of uniting and protecting his world. Featuring art by Yoshiyuki Momose and a soundtrack by the great Joe Hisaishi, Ni no Kuni II is sure to be a visual and auditory treat. As the rating is for the Prince’s Edition as well, we should expect to see the two additional content packs titled “The Tale of a Timeless Tome” and “The Lair of the Lost Lord” included in this offering.
Given the success of Ni no Kuni on Switch thus far, it’s not really surprising that we would see Revenant Kingdom come eventually. Of course, there hasn’t been an official announcement from Bandai Namco yet, but with E3 coming up in just a month and a half, it wouldn’t shock me to see a big reveal there.
