GungHo lands wild crossovers left and right for free-to-play multiplayer brawler Ninjala, and next up is a Ninjala x Rurouni Kenshin collaboration, starting on December 15 as part of Season 8. You will be able to dress like Kenshin Himura, Hajime Saito, or Aoshi Shinomori and “draw your sword with Ninja-Gums styled after their weapons.” Likewise, Rurouni Kenshin-centric emotes, IPPON Decorations, Gum Utsusemi, and other things will be coming to Ninjala.
PR elaborates further on what to expect from the event:
The more fights you win, the better rewards you earn through Ninjala’s Battle Frequency Bonus, coming with the collaboration. The Rurouni Kenshin Cup also grants players prizes depending on how well they can fend off their foes. This collab tournament begins January 10 and lasts six hours.
Additionally, the recently announced Ninjala anime has received some new details and a key visual (below). The anime will broadcast on TV Tokyo in Japan beginning January 8, 2022 and will also be available on “various streaming sites.” It is directed by Mamoru Kanbe and animated by OLM. Singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is providing the “speedy pop song” opening theme, “Maybe Baby,” and Wolpis Carter is providing the closing theme, “Ninja like ninja.”
