Ninjala Sonic the Hedgehog crossover dates September 23 to October 21 GungHo Online Entertainment Nintendo Switch

The previously announced Ninjala Sonic the Hedgehog crossover has received new details from developer GungHo Online Entertainment in a new developer diary. It will occur from Sept. 23 to Oct. 21 and feature new relevant themed items. Additionally, “Featured Battle” will arrive in the Battle Menu in an early October update. Limited-time casual event battle modes with unique goals and objectives will be available in Featured Battle. The first one is called Beast Attack, similar to Tag and allowing for upward of eight players.

The Ninjala Sonic the Hedgehog crossover event will offer the following new items: Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles avatar outfits, Sonic and Dr. Eggman IPPON decorations, and a Dr. Eggman Gum Utsusemi transformation. They will all be purchasable with the in-game Jala currency. Around four minutes into the developer diary is when they start discussing the Sonic content, and you can see the characters in action with Sega avatars.

Since its official launch back in June on Nintendo Switch, Ninjala has received a perhaps surprising level of success. The free-to-play game celebrated having more than 4 million players last month. It would be nice if GungHo’s other recent Switch game, Volta-X, could earn a similar level of love, since we pretty thoroughly enjoyed it.

Let us know if you’re hyped for the Ninjala Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration.
