Nintendo 64

If you’re reading this site, it’s likely because you love Nintendo. That had to start somewhere, probably with the perfect first console or handheld. What was that for you? What Nintendo system was your first? What games did you have from the get-go? How do you remember that system today?

My first Nintendo system was the Nintendo 64. Since my parents both played games, I was born into a house with a Nintendo 64 and a few other retro systems, and I took to the N64 almost immediately. Even though I was very, very young to the point that I had no idea what I was doing half of the time, games like Star Fox 64, Yoshi’s Story, Super Mario 64, and Banjo-Kazooie all set me off on the right foot with Nintendo. Throw in titles like Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, and others, and you’ll see why I’ve been a Nintendo fan for the vast majority of my life. In the years since my childhood, I’ve revisited many of these Nintendo 64 gems, almost all with satisfactory results. Its library holds up all these years later.

What was your first Nintendo system? How do you feel about that system today? Let us know in the comments below.
