Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase

Someone at Nintendo is up late – the company just revealed another entry in the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase series set to air tomorrow, September 17 at 10 a.m. ET. Like with past showcases, the focus seems to be entirely on third-party publishers. Revealed by a tweet that went out at 3:38 in the morning (did someone forget to hit send?), we don’t know much else about Thursday’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, other than it’ll be livestreamed. Check out the nocturnal announcement tweet below.

This marks the third entry in the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase series. They’re not as fun as general Directs, that’s for sure, but the first one wasn’t so bad – showing off two Shin Megami Tensei games – and the most recent one gave us Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, so I’m happy enough with that one as well. Regardless, now that we know what to expect with these things, I’ll be keeping my hopes in check, and I assume that many other fans will as well after the last two outings (wishful thinking?), which featured short, third-party focused videos that usually only had an announcement or two to write home about.

That said, we’ve now got a whole day to speculate wildly about this Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase. What do you think we’ll be seeing? There are plenty of rumors that could tie in nicely here. We’re waiting on Bayonetta 3Bravely Default II is allegedly hitting this year, and Doom Eternal‘s Switch port is missing in action. Any one of those titles could feasibly show up, and so could surprises. Granted, it could also be a thoroughly disappointing event. I’m not sure what I think will happen, but as I said earlier, I’m not getting my hopes up too high for this one. What are you anticipating? Do you think the fact that the event will be livestreamed points to anything exciting? Let us know in the comments below.
