Nintendo recently announced they’re looking for more developers for their The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel. On the most recent listing, Nintendo is looking for level designers and 3D terrain designers. And we’re speculating some good news might come with that.

While we can’t say for sure what this means for the game’s development, we can speculate how far along Nintendo is based on the job descriptions. From the looks of it, Nintendo is looking for “project contract employees.” This means that whoever is hired for these jobs will only work on the Breath of the Wild sequel. Afterward, they’ll move on with whatever other projects life has in store for them.
Being at this stage in hiring suggests the game could actually be relatively far into development. Could this mean we’ll see the new Zelda game next year? It’s hard to say, really. But it does seem like development is going smoothly so far, which makes us hopeful we won’t see delays like with Breath of the Wild.
Since the E3 reveal, speculation has been rampant, and I’m personally excited by any mention of the game by Nintendo. These most recent job openings for the game make me hopeful, and I’m glad Nintendo has been keeping us updated on things instead of going completely silent.
What do you think of these job postings? Do you think we’ll see Breath of the Wild‘s sequel sooner than we originally expected? When do you think we’ll hear more? Let us know in the comments below!
