Nintendo Indie World Showcase headed your way Tuesday, Aug. 18

Another week without a full Nintendo Direct looms, but a new indie showcase has just been announced. An Indie World Showcase will take place tomorrow, Aug. 18 at noon ET. The stream is set to feature 20 minutes of upcoming indie games for Nintendo Switch. Don’t expect any major AAA announcements or reveals on Nintendo first-party titles, but more Nintendo events of any kind is welcome right now.

A somewhat similar event ran last month with the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase. That one brought us just under 10 minutes of third-party announcements, notably including DLC for Cadence of Hyrule, a Shin Megami Tensei III remaster, and some long-awaited Shin Megami Tensei V news. It was an underwhelming presentation to many, so here’s hoping the August stream is a little more interesting.

Of course, this one being an indie showcase, we’re not going to hear more from publishers like Atlus or other developers on that scale. However, during this first-party drought, we’ll welcome any indie news to tie us over. It’s been almost a full year since last September’s proper Nintendo Direct. Here’s hoping that the next full Direct hits us sometime next month at last.

Get ready for the Nintendo Indie World Showcase tomorrow at noon ET.
