Are you a fan of fast-paced, high-action gameplay? Are you also a fan of an Umbra Witch by the name of Bayonetta? Then we have some great news for you. In a recent Nintendo Direct, Platinum Games showcased its newest title Astral Chain, which had fans surprised and excited. However, the announcement also had Switch owners wondering where Bayonetta 3 was. Fear not umbra fans because in the latest Nintendo Power Podcast, Nintendo of America’s Bill Trinen stated:

Because to me, I look at [Astral Chain] and I see the kind of intense action game that historically you haven’t seen a lot of on Nintendo platforms. With this collaboration with PlatinumGames, being able to bring stuff like that… and knowing that they mentioned, of course,Bayonetta 3, [which is] still in the works, it really helps to round out the library overall of what’s available on Switch. And of course, that’s another game that’s maybe coming a little bit sooner than people anticipated, later this year.

It is incredibly possible that Bayonetta 3 may be released before year’s end considering that Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba, founders of Platinum Games, said that the development of the game is going very well.

Are you excited about the likelihood of Bayonetta 3 being released this year? Let us know in the comments below.

It seems when Bill Trenin said “later this year” he was possibly referring to Astral Chain, Platinum’s other upcoming action game. More evidence points to this because he liked a tweet stating that he probably wasn’t talking about Bayonetta 3 …sad reacts only.

  1. In regards to what Bill Trenin said about Bayonetta 3’s potential release, why would you end the conversation with “later this year” after speaking in context with Bayonetta 3 “[Bayonetta 3 is]maybe coming a little bit sooner than people anticipated” because we know when Astral Chain will release, it’s a weird placement of words in the context of the conversation. I’ve checked the tweet attached in the article and if Bill had liked it, he had since removed his like at this point in time, and the main tweet this person replied to, it has been deleted. Very confusing! Bayonetta 3 still has a TBA release, if it should release this year it would likely be late Nov/Dec with some sort of announcement at E3, but I feel it’s too early. With Platinum Game’s update stating the design process for Bayonetta “will see” a change.
