The flagship Nintendo Switch has steadily held its MSRP of $300 ever since it first launched back in 2017. Nintendo has yet to officially drop the price on a mass-market scale. But, that doesn’t mean you’re completely stuck with having to buy the system at that price. If you need to save some dough, there is another way—eBay!
Nintendo has an official eBay storefront. There, it is currently selling refurbished Switch units that come with all the fixings (Joy-Con straps, AC adapter, HDMI cable, and Dock). The only difference is that they’re shipped in a regular box rather than a fancy red one. According to eBay’s description of “Manufacturer refurbished” items, it mentions that such items have been “inspected, cleaned and repaired to meet manufacturer specifications and is in excellent condition.” Thus, you shouldn’t feel uneasy about buying a refurb, thinking that you may get a scuffed, gunky mess.
To sweeten the pot a little more, Nintendo has even thrown in a 1-year warranty for these refurbs, so if anything should go wrong, you can always take advantage of that.
Production of new Switch units is being impacted by the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak. So, stock depletion of unopened units and even refurbished models like this can be expected as the weeks go on.
