In its latest financial briefing, Nintendo revealed estimates for its hardware sales for the upcoming fiscal year. For the next year, Nintendo expects to sell just 800,000 Wii U consoles. By comparison, the company estimated it would sell 3.6 million units last fiscal year, which was already deemed a low figure. The company estimates to sell 15 million units of Wii U software.

Nintendo also expects to sell 5 million 3DS handhelds, a drop from the previous year. However, the company expects to sell 55 million pieces of 3DS software, more than last year, primarily bolstered by the new Pokemon titles set to release this fall.
