Hollow Knight Shovel Knight Nintendo Showdown

Welcome back to another edition of Nintendo Showdown! This is a weekly series at Nintendo Enthusiast, and it requires some audience participation. Every week we’ll compare two (or more) Nintendo games and pit them against each other in a poll. Your votes decide the winner, so choose wisely. We just wrapped up a series of contests between first-party Nintendo classics and the indie games they helped inspire. We’re still feeling the indie love, so we’re matching up two favorites from small teams this week. It’s Hollow Knight vs. Shovel Knight, and your votes determine the winner!

Nintendo Showdown: Hollow Knight vs. Shovel Knight

Indie darlings

Hollow Knight and Shovel Knight are two of the best indies in recent memory. Both games were Kickstarter success stories, but they became so much more. Outstanding visuals, controls, combat, level design, music, and more helped both games rise to fame. Developers Team Cherry and Yacht Club Games each kept their games relevant by showering their loyal fan base with constant free updates. Soon, both games were ported to every platform under the sun, bringing these stellar adventures to more players. Which one of these indie darlings deserves to win? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
